Pictures!!!

So, I finally am at a computer with some pictures so I can post some new ones!!!

We'll start with Violet in her highchair. I knew it was time to buy one when she started arching out of Bumbo while I tried to feed her...very frustrating for the both of us. So off to Target we went and came home with the cutest high chair...John actually picked it out! And, believe it or not, I put it together!

Here she is sitting in it with some toys...the look on her face says "I don't know what I'm in but I have my toys so, I guess it's okay..."

"This thing may not be so bad..."

There we go...a smile. =)

Now whenever I put her in it, she knows her food is coming so she gets excited!

Okay, so like two weeks ago, I told a story about how Violet wiggled across the living room floor and got to the TV stand...here are some pics from that.

Here she is reaching up, tongue sticking out, playing away.

"Uh-oh, mommy caught me pushing over the DVDs! Hehehe!"

"That's right, I'm drumming on the Xbox."

"Look, I can reach the satellite box...I'm gonna mess with it!"

"That was so much fun!"

She has such an ornery little face sometimes...I think I'm gonna be in trouble when she gets older! That pic is currently my background on my work computer...I love it!

More later!

My Spring Break

So, probably one of the only things I miss about my college days is the breaks...you know, spring break, winter break, summer break, etc. And this week happens to be spring break. =(

But, thanks to miss Violet, I did get one day off for my spring break! Of course, it was because I had to take her to the doctor, so not a desirable spring break, but it was a vacation day!

This past weekend, Violet started coughing. I didn't really think anything of it because she's got two teeth trying to come in, which means lots of extra drool, which can lead to congestion. However, come Tuesday when I picked her up from daycare, her teachers commented that 4 (of the 7) other kids in her class have had RSV recently. So that prompted me to want to take her to the doctor, because if left untreated, RSV can turn into pneumonia. Scary.

Violet had RSV earlier this year, and we still have some of the breathing treatments left, so I gave her one of those Tuesday night. Let me tell you something, she does NOT like breathing treatments! It was a complete battle! I did win, but neither of us had much fun!

Wednesday morning, I called and got her an appointment. The earliest one they had was 10:30, so I called in and told my boss I'd be taking a vacation day. Violet and I played...she found the DVDs by our TV stand and tried to pull up using the stand but was unsuccessful at that! I got some really cute pictures of her playing by the stand I'll post later!

The appointment went good, Dr. McDowell tested her for RSV and it was negative. Thank goodness! He did say her cough sounded "rough", and to do the breathing treatments twice a day, use saline drops in her nose, and prop up her bed.

So now our evening and morning routine consist of 15 minutes of TORTURE according to V...we do the breathing treatment first which she fights the entire time. John tries to distract her, mostly unsuccessfully, and I hold the mask over her face. After that funness, I get to put the saline drops in her nose, and then use the bulb syringe. That is even more fun...after all that, she is so mad!

But, the good news is no RSV.

Oh, and this morning, when I went to get her out of bed, she was upside down. The whole point of propping up her bed is to keep her head above her heart to help with the drainage/swelling...well that's not going to do much good when she flips and gets her little heart above her head! Little booger.

Anyways, that was my spring break. I'll post the pics later...I got some good ones!

The Last Catch-Up Post

Alright, so I'm almost done with the catch-up posts...I think this will be the last one until I download all my videos of Violet off the video camera.

So, December 30th, Violet did the cutest thing ever. She was on my lap in the chair and John was sitting on the floor beside us playing peek-a-boo. All of a sudden, she zoomed in on his glasses and bent forward and took them off his face! She then looked at them in her hands like, what do I have?! It was almost like she had just noticed that he wears glasses sometimes and she decided she wanted them! So cute.

Then, one day, I layed her on the floor with some toys around her (trying to motivate her to roll over, because she rarely does it!) and I look over and this is what I see:

She fell asleep! And on that note, here's a picture of her in her crib playing with her seahorse, waiting for me to come get her.

So, before she could sit up on her own, she sat in her Bumbo. This picture is of her just sitting there in her cute little outfit from Nick & Brittany.

The next few pictures were from last month (see, finally catching up!), and they were of her in pajamas loaned to us from her cousin Kate. This was the first time I let her wear a pajama "dress", and she had fun playing with it!

These pajamas are completely appropriate for her, because I'm always calling her my little monkey! Look at that ornery face!

So, Violet absolutely adores her daddy. She's always looking around for John and babbling at him to get his attention. Dada was even her first word, of course! So, sometimes when he's on the computer, I take her in there and she sits on his lap.

She'll just play with anything she can reach on the desk!

Okay, that's all for picture catch-up but here are some of her "accomplishments" to date:
- Nov. 29th - She first tried to suck her thumb (we stopped that pretty quick!)
- Dec. 14th - She rolled from her back to her stomach (I think that may be the only time we saw it, she's not a fan of rolling!)
- Jan. 31st - First tooth!
- Feb. 16th - She started clapping her hands (on my birthday!)
- Feb. 18th - She reached for me when I went to pick her up

The way she reaches is adorable, she just shakes those little arms. I'll post some video of it when I figure that out!

So now I'll be updating in the present, which should have a lot more details, assuming I remember to do it on a regular basis!

Peace for now!
